  • Need Help! What am I doing wrong?

I think I kno what I'm doing wrong but I would like a few more opnions. I've been dieting since 01/16/2006. I started out at 193lbs and 17.9% BF.
I started taking Clen and Syntheselen on 01/25/2006 then added VPX Redline on 01/30/2006. I weighed myself this morning and I'm 190.6 lbs 16.9% BF.

My meals are as follows for Monday through Friday: On the weekends I just eat 2 large Caribbean style meals containing rice and beans with some form of beef or chicken.

    1. 2 rice cakes (sometimes some peanut butter)
    2. 2.5 to 3 servings of almonds
    3. Protein Shake that I mix with 2 Danon Light-n-Fit smoothies
    4. Tuna
    5. 2.5 to 3 servings of almonds
    6. Protein shake w/ 2 Danon Light-n-smoothies

    Here are the nutritional facts.
    Meal # Calories Protein(g) Carbs(g) Fats(g)
    1 100 2 22 0
    2 480 18 9 42
    3 340 50 38 1
    4 175 32.5 10.5 2.5
    5 480 18 9 42
    6 340 50 38 1

    total: 1915 170.5 126.5 88.5

I work out 2 times per day 5 days a week (Monday through Friday). I.e. Monday I'll do Tri's around noon for 30 minutes then do chest in the afternoon(6pm) then do 1 hour of cardio afterwards. From the cardio I burn roughly between 750 to 800 calories per session. SO I'm assuming I burn at least another 500 calories from my 2 weight training sessions?

Why am I not seeing more weight loss besides 2.5 lbs and 1% bodyfat after 3 weeks of busting my ass doing cardio? I would have expected to see at minimum 6 lbs from 3 weeks? Should I lower my calories more? Should I eat more protein? What other foods can I eat without cooking? Normally I eat Wendy's, Chinese and Caribbean food which are high in fat and carbs and maintained to keep my weight steady without doing cardio. Since this diet is a drastic change from what I normally eat and I'm doing cardio I figure I'd make more progress? Don't get me wrong I'm not expecting to loose 20 lbs in 1 month. But 8 to 10lbs would seem like a reasonable goal right? It's the end of week 3 and only 2.5lbs?

You know, in the past several months I've used T3 and clen and I'm making better progress doing what I'm doing without it. I train for 30 to 40 minutes and then do 20 minutes of cardio 4 days a week. I usually get on the bike and I keep my HR at about 140 BPM +/- for the whole 20 minutes. That has taken more fat off me than the damn T3/clen did.

Also, you aren't eating enough bro. Anytime you eat too few cals your body will go into anti-starvation mode and store what you eat as fat. It doesn't matter how good you eat, it will store it as fat as a defensive mechanism. You probably need to be at least 2,500 cals if you are training 10 times a week. That's a lot. I usually eat 5-6 meals a day and get between 3,000 and 3,500 cals. Of course, I'm 230, but still 1,900 is too low for your activity levels. Even when I get down to where I want, I will just increase the intensity on the cardio, not lower my calories.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

Also, I'm shooting to lose about 1 pound a week. That's my goal. Between now and summer one pound a week will easily have me at a lean 210 by summer. That's about 20 pounds of fat. Losing weight that slowly just ensures you don't lose muscle with it.

Thanks for the adive bro. That is what my buddy told! I will start eating more. I can gain muscle eaily but never fat. It sucks having an endo-mesomorphic body type.

That's a good goal. I was aiming for 2 lbs per week at the cardio levels I am doing. I will up my protein by adding lean meats. Tuna is getting old!

Re: Need Help! What am I doing wrong?

Same thing I was going to say, Not eating enough! I'm in the same situation but for me its easy to lose weight but hard as hell to gain muscle mass. You need to eat something every 3 hours and keep your metabolism going. Right now you've just shut it down. Eat several small meals a day, not just a snack or two and then one large meal.

FYI- Contrary to what others may say, each drug works different for each person. I've taken clen several times with no results except heart palps but when I took T3 for the first time it was a miracle drug for me. Really easy to shread the fat, so you may have to just play around and find what's best for you before you just take alot of unescessary drugs.

Thanks for the help guys! I will eat more! I gave you guys rep points but couldn't get Mikey!

I was under the old notion "weight loss= calories_out > calories_in." I guess that equation works in theory, but not in reality.

No, it works, you just need more cals. You can easily afford to up it to 2,500 or 3,000 and still lose weight I bet. It wont come off right away. If you've been doing this a while, it will take your body a few weeks to accept this as normal and then start responding differently in how it stores nutrients. But, better to lose a few weeks now and get it right than waste time doing something that's not working. Good luck and don't bother getting on the scale for two to three weeks. The initial raise in cals is probably going to raise your body weight at first. Weigh in a few weeks and start from there. You will be ripped by summer.
