  • Thread I read recently ?????

I saw a thread a few weeks ago that kinda threw out everything I had known about gaining muscle and staying lean.

I always thought to bulk and then cut. This thread stated to eat like the weight you want to be yet still do cardio and take weight loss supps. Is this correct? I thought if you took in a lot of cals then burned them off through cardio or fat weight supps. you would stay the same weight? Some insight from some vets would be awesome.

Bulking and cutting isnt a BAD way to gain muscle but it's not greatest or the fastest way either...

ex: bulk and become real fat putting on muscle BUT lots of fat too... then when you "cut" you're not really building muscle if ANY at all. so if you bulk for 6 months than cut for 4 months, you wasted 4 entire months at the gym NOT building any muscle

Now if you eat TONS of food, eat EXTREME amounts of protein (2g lb++++) and LIFT HEAVY ASS WEIGHT (think SUPPLY and DEMAND here), do your cardio, your carb cut offs and your diet supps you can GAIN muscle , keep your bf at bay, and stay lean all year around. So you're basically building muscle 12 months out of the year instead of 6-8

just think about it... your 200 lb guy eat and train like a 250lb guy and you eat tons of protein, lift heavy weights(either by powerlifting, or powerbuilding) lots of food, but clean food, and do carb cut offs how much faster are youg onna grow then the people who "bulk" and "CUT"

I like to stay at around 10-12% year round... i can see my abs (they arent anythng to brag about though), and contiually get bigger and stronger by using that forumlate... supply and demand

-btw pretty much 1000% of what i said was pretty much written by Dante (DC).. just put some of it in my own words

Not sure if you know Dante (dc) or not.. but he routinely packs muscles on his trainees (mostly clean trainees).. one of hte brightest men on the boards that I know.

he even trains pro dave henry who looks absolutely SICK nowadays.

I, for once will tend to agree with Skar. Even though i do bulking cycles, i try to diet lean, low carbs and complex, and protein for lbm and not over it. Eating clean and avoiding sat and trans fats altogether, and keep cals high. That way what you are gaining is quality mass and not alot of weight you have to loose. You are continually gaining mass that is quality and lasting, as opposed to gaining a high bf%.

I will agree for MOST people to put on muscle u're going to have to be at around 12-14%... Staying at a low body fat and gaining weight is real tough gotto have just about everything nailed to a T...
