  • flax oil question

    hey guys. i just got some flax oil. they came in 1000mg gelcaps. can someone tell me how much i should take daily and what time of day i should. i am in a cutting phase right now. thanks for the help!

    Damn bro, I never buy flaxseed oil in capsules unless I'm on the road and unable to carry my liquid flax with me. 1 tablespoon (15gms) of flaxseed oil contains 13gms of fat. (1gm Saturated, 10gms Polyunsaturated and 2gms Monounsaturated). So, you're capsules only contain 1000mg or 1gm of flaxseed oil. That means you should choke down 13 caps to obtain the same amount of flaxseed oil in 1 tablespoon of liquid flax. If I'm mistaken - which happens often - someone correct me.

    As for when you should take it - that depends upon you. I wouldn't take it after a workout. For instance, in or with my Post Workout Shake, nor my first meal after my workout. Any other time should be okay but I don't have a copy of your routine, diet, etc... to make a recommendation. Hope that helps bro.

      gook i really appreciate all the help youve given me. youve gone out of your way a few times to help me and i really appreciate it!

      im trying to cut right now. to keep it short i have my meals every 2 hours and its 80% solid foods. i work out toward afternoon/ night time. do you think it would be a good idea to just take it in the morning with my first meal?

        If your workouts are in the afternoon/late evening then I would take the flax in the morning up until your pre workout shake/meal. Then after your PWO shake and 1st meal after your workout are complete...then I would start up with the flax again. However, I'm not sure how many meals you have before your retire??? Here's what I'm thinking from the point of your pre workout meal/shake:

        1530 Pre workout meal/shake
        1630-1700 workout
        1800 PWO Shake
        1930 PWO meal
        2100 meal? (flax)
        2300 meal?
        2400 bed?
