Would you state the research that prooves alpha lipoic acid is ineffective? Its also used for liver protection buddy. From what i've read r-ala is just a little more potent. Theres also studies that proove glutamine is a waste because more than enough of it is supplied in your whey protein.

no enemies made joe, but when you contradict what we believe we know it would be nice if you could post the study as back up.
If you search this board for ala written by basskiller you will find so detailed studies. I know that r-ala is more potent, but I have a hard time buying that ala is useless
But other than that you have a potent cocktail; however I personally think it is missing dextrose

Not for nothing, but it's been brought to my attention lately, that the easiest way is just to go with Biotest's SURGE. Specially since they've stopped wholesaling it, and are selling direct for $21.
Could you mix up the same concoction...yeah...but here's the way it was explained to me...copy paste version:
Surge uses d-glucose a far better carb for insulin shuttling and response purposes.
Surge uses Whey protien hydrolysate, FAR FAR better then whey ion exchange whey or any other whey isolates. Problem it taste like liquid floor wax, and is expensive, even in bulk. Now if you can get around the expense there is still taste and $2 per serving of something I can keep down is important to me.
Surge is also reenforced with the proper ratio of BCAA's with a 2-1 ratio of leucine to valine and isoleucine and has additonal glutamine and phenylalanine to bring the dose to around 3 grams (I don't have my can handy so I may be off slightly on this, I am old and my memmory not that good) This is the exact ration shown in studies to ellicit the best response.
For these reasons I find my own mix would be closer to the $2 serving price, taste horrable and take me 20 min to measure and mix
I'm throwing my flak jacket on now...LOL
