  • Post workout / Pre workout!

    Hey guys,

    What do you all use post / pre workout?

    Ive been using an MRP (Meal Replacement) PRE workout or whey + dextrose (only small amt) and post ive been using whey + dextrose ( larger amt)

    but i was wondering, complex carbs are needed pre workout, are they needed post too? should i have rice/pasta pre, and whey / dext post, or also have rice/pasta post?

    Im kinda unsure

    i eat oatmeal with 1 scoop of protein in it preworkout
    after i make a shake with dextrose and whey then eat 45minutes to an hour later a normal meal with sweet potatos, or some pasta what ever i dont think its that important where they come from as long as you get plenty of protein and medium and low gi carbs

      Simple and Complex are adjectives that are a little outdated. A more proper gauge of a carb is based on its Glycemic Index value (GI).

      Do a search for Glycemic Index on Google and you will find a complete listing and an explanation.

      Generally speaking a Carb with a low GI value would be best prior to working out, while a high GI carb (such as dextrose) would be used immediately after. This is to quickly replace the muscle’s glycogen stores.
