  • after workout drink

    I read in the FAQ thread something about how so many people don't take an after workout drink. What was stated that you need to take either dextrose, maltodextrin, or glucose. He never really mentioned what TO drink though, just what should be in it. What I always used to do was suck down a gatorade or something of the sort and every once in a while a few of those glucose wafers. Am I way off base here or am I on the right track. Please give me some more (or better) ideas that I should try for some carbs for glycogen before I take my protein shake.
    All advice will be appreciated.

    I drink gatorade during my workout. Right after my workout I'll have a glass of Phosphagen HP or some other sugary creatine drink. Half hour or so later, I'll have a protein shake.

      Phosphagen XT right after 20 -30 minutes later protein with some kind of slow burning carbs. Drink the gatorade during if you think you need it. I just stay with water. If your not using creatine a protein drink with a mix of fast burning and slow burning carbs 0-60 mins after workout.

        i drink water while training.
        my post workout drink w/o slin is:

        50 grams of dextrose
        40 grams of whey
        5 grams of creatine

        this costs alot less than buying a premade creatine sugar mix which are good just pricey.

        with slin:

        100grams of dextrose
        50 grams of whey
        5 grams of creatine
        5 grams of BCAAs
        "SHIAT BIOTCH, thats a big ass!"

              I think I am gonna get the anobolic after work-out formula on proteincustomizer.com. That is a pretty cool site. I think I will also buy the day and night time formulas as well once my store bought designer and nitro-tech (junk) is used up.

                  i usually go with about 35g of isopure with 60g of carbs. then ill eat about an hour or so later.

                    I usually grab an isopure drink. It has 25 grams carbs and 40 grams protien.This is due to the fact that I'm waaaay to lazy to mix anything up after a workout and those are the only rtds that don't taste like dirty water.
