first of all, just my opinion.i stop takin any protein powder and switch to eat real protein food 7 times a day.and i drink milk for my post workout.i think food will stay in your system longer to get the mass building effect than liquid protien.of course i gained some mass by doing this.so.....try to question yourself how many oz of muscle did you gained from powder in the past?i'm regret that i started recently.

Powders/suppliments allow you to tweak certian aspects of your diet. These parameters that can be adjusted for your entire day:
Quick absorbing protein + simple carb for post workout.
Protein drink + food meal for added protein
slower absorbing protein for bedtime
etc...
You have greater control of the diet w/suppliments.
