I was talking to my brother on the phone yesterday and he said that he thinks the creatine caused him to tear a muscle in his shoulder. Now I've never heard of this but he knows his body pretty well. He said he had just started up on creatine again not too long ago and was doing his regular chest routine...no different in weight or reps than before and he tore it. Do any of you know if that could be directly related to the creatine or not.
Thanks in advance,
JS
I've never heard of such a thing, and I don't see how creatine could have caused it. I have personally use a lot of creatine with no problems. I know a few people that have torn muscles and 10 times out of 10 it has been a result of overtraining, going to heavy, or bad form. Maybe his form was a little off that day?

I was thinking the same thing guys...I just wanted to ask for opinions before I stress to him that creatine probably did not cause it.
Thanks
When I was taking my certification training course we had this chiropractor come in and talk. He said that all these people would come in and say, “I don’t know doc, I just bent down to pick up the pencil and BAM!” His point was that in many cases clients would come in thinking that something so light would cause there troubles. Yet the reality is that it was a problem in the making for some time.
The funny thing is about a month after this my buddy calls me up and says, “Damn, I just bent down to pickup a piece of paper and SNAP! I can hardly walk.” The funny part is that he had spent the past several years loading boxes at UPS, but he really though it was all from picking up the paper.
Creatine gets such a bad wrap. When it is only a combination of 4 amino acids -- that making it just a form of protein. I think it is safe to say that the cause is not creatine.

Lord, make me strong, and let the weak find comfort in my strength.
BRO THAT WOULD BE LIKE ME TAKING A SHOT OF TEST AND THEN HAVING AN ACCIDENT AND MY LEG GETTING CHOPPED OFF AND BLAMING IT ON THE GEAR FOR LOSING MY LEG.
I KNOW THAT DIDNT MAKE ANY SENSE BUT IT MAKES MORE THEN SAYIN CREATINE CAUSED A MUSCLE TEAR
