  • Hows my diet?

    Ok whats going on.. Im going a really low carb diet.. about 30 grams a day.. heres the diet tell me what you think. current stats: 6'1, 225lbs, 15% bf... trying to shred up!

    Meal 1) 8 egg whites, shredded cheese on the eggs
    meal 2) protein shake
    meal 3) 2 chicken breasts(12oz) 1 cup of cooked spinanch
    meal 4)(post work out)** protein shake
    meal 5)some sort of meat(50 grams of protein) 1 can of green beans
    meal 6) protein shake

    Totals: 2,445 cals 358g of Protein and 33 carbs.

    ** should I add dextrose to this meal??

    You need EFA's. Try fish oil, olive oil, Natty PB, or flax oil.

      Yes, u're fat isn't in check. You still need fat in your diet. Salmon contains a good amt. of omega-3's and -6's. Believe me, it helps lowering your bf% and helps you not be in "starvation" mode. Do you have a loading "Carb" day? I would have a load day for carbs while minimizing your protein intake so u can keep the same # of cals. This helps saturate the muscles w/lost glycogen which helps them look fuller/bigger and it also helps you keep piece of mind!! LOL

        Thanks for responding... Im taking flax oil with the protein shakes... sometimes i mix in natural peanut butter... is that enough fats or should i put them in somewhere else... also do you think you could give me an example of loading "carb" day???

          Someone correct me if i'm wrong, a carb up day will consist of:

          2g of carbs/lb of bodyweight
          3/4g of protein / lb of bodyweight
          1/4g of fat / lb of bodyweight

          Adjust your ratios to your standards. Eat good sources of carbs, no simple carbs. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, pasta, yams, wheat bread, oats, some fruits. I'll try to get some sites/info to back up my #'s. Hope that helps

              As for your fats, get them from fish, like salmon, tuna is not a good source of omega-3's. Also, lean ground turkey, lean ground beef, lean steak, ect..... PM if u need more help.
