  • Got Abs

    I have a six pack(or what have you). But my stomach is not flat. It sticks out a little, almost like I have just finished eating. When I flex, I can pull it in and make it flat. When I really relax, it sticks out a little more. What is this all about. A friend of mine told me that there may be fat under the abdominal wall. But that didn't sound possible. I do have so fat on my stomach, don't get me wrong. I am not ripped, but people can still see my abs without me flexing.

    brother i have heard people call it viseral fat which i assume is fat arround the organs but i have seen nothing to prove it. i have the same deal but without the six pack i am stuck with a 2 pack right now. my belly protrudes a little dont let it bother you. its not like you have a gut hanging over your pants.

          Alright guys, try this out. I had back surgery 11 yrs ago and still have pain so I saw a phyical therapist recently. Of course she told me you need to have strong abs because they are 60% of the support for the back. Well, here is the exercise she said to do and believe me it works your abs like nothing I've done before. There is a belt like muscle underneath the abs that goes around the front just beneath the belly button (don't remember the name of it though). To get the small waist, tight abs look you need to work this muscle...however, no machine will work it. You have to practice flexing this muscle by getting on all 4s and sucking your belly button in up towards your back (but be sure you are not using your diaphram, you want to be able to breathe). Practice these sets of 20 or so with a 10 second hold while flexed and then shoot for 50 in one set (it wil burn). Once you get that you can use an ab ball and try to hold that muscle in whil you do crunches on the ball. There are other exercises to do also but too long to explain.

            That's what arnold use to do, sucking in his stomach while contracting on all 4's. Wouldn't hurt to try!
