      History

      The use of performance enhancing drugs is rampant in elite athletes as well as a high percentage of average adult males. The wide shouldered, narrow-waist male (the V-Taper appearance) is idealized in today’s media. So obviously most young adult males are looking for every possible way to achieve and enhance a healthy looking, muscular body {1}. Frequently the use of AAS (anabolic androgenic steroids) is part of the weight resistance-training protocol and often times forbidden (at least in the USA) by the law.

      Most illicit drugs are illegally imported from the East Bloc or South East Asia. The prevalence of AAS has been reported in various cultures and races but exact data is limited due to the athletes not admitting use fearing legal consequences {2}. This is precisely why our organization has spent a great deal of time developing a safe and naturally occurring alternative to divert the consumer from looking into the illegal and often dangerous, outdated steroids available on the black market today.

      Chemistry

      All androgens possess a four-ring nucleus as outlined in figure 1.

      Testosterone is the major naturally occurring androgen in humans and most drug companies developed and synthesized their own version of it. Figure 2 will outline some of the most popular synthetic derivatives currently manufactured {3}.

      Most steroids must undergo a series of biotransformations, when taken orally, which is why pharmaceutical companies developed alternative delivery technologies that render the steroid more active. By attaching single or several alkyl groups in the steroid nucleus, the steroid is protected to better withstand the first pass liver deactivation process, so less of the active ingredient is destroyed. A series of different varieties (of protection) are: 17-methyl or ethylation {4}, 17-ether or esterification, 19-Normethylation, 4-chlorination, 2-alkylation, 1, 2 dehydration, 1 methylation.

      The basic testosterone molecule and some of its common synthetic derivatives with unsaturated C-4,5 bond convert via the aromatase enzyme to estrogens leading to gynocomastia (***** tits) problems. In a search for more active and less estrogenic compounds the pharmaceutical industry was pressured to develop safer alternatives via different mechanisms.

      As outlined in figure 3.) the addition of an alkyl or ethyl group at the C-17a position renders the drug essentially orally active. The 17a alkyl or ethylation substantially retards the livers metabolism and thus allows the compound to enter the blood plasma to a higher degree. Most pharmaceutical preparations are 17a alkylated with a few exceptions like methenolone and norbolone-ester (the prosteroid, TMM-100).

      Ester and Etherification of the 17-hydroxyl group delay the biodegradation of the compound as well as making it lipophilic (fat loving) {5}. Short chain esters with less than 4 carbons raise short acting steroids, whereas long chain esters with at least 8 carbons or more (decanoate or undecanoate) raise longer acting steroids {6}.

      Bringing it all together

      Substitution of hydrogen for the methyl group in position C-19 yields 19-Nortestosterone (Nandrolone). Esterification of Nandrolone results in products that remain more intact with significantly greater stability. Most compounds are intramuscularly injected to increase activity. While an improved delivery system, compared with the original design of orals, injecting often resulted in bacterial problems that lead to localized abscesses (inflamed, swollen tissue resulting from site injections), which have to be medically drained of bacteria. It is therefore that CSS spent a great deal of time to develop its exclusive enteric coated and orally active technology. With the birth of the Norbolone-Ester (Figure 4.)

      As the now, newly trained eye (based on studying the diagrams of chemical structures) can witness CSS attached a 4-hydroxyl group to the steroid molecule, similar to what is done to the compound Clostebol (Figure 1h). The 4-chloro attachment changes the activity of the steroid dramatically by losing its affinity to interact with the aromatase enzyme. Problems such as gyno are therefore non-existent as the parent molecule is unable to communicate with the necessary receptors to form estrogen. You will also witness the 19 Nor-methylation, which places the compound into the 19 Nor-steroid classes of derivatives. It is reasonably to assume that the 4th position (hydroxyl or OH) modification also inhibits the formation of secondary metabolic factors, like conversion to dihydronandrolone (DHN) {7}. Without being able to convert to DHN the parent steroid molecule (Norbolone-ester) is able to exert most of its anabolic action in tissues that are rich in androgen receptors (examples are shoulders, quadriceps). Therefore, Norbolone has an increased affinity to stimulate androgen receptors by not interacting with secondary pathways such as the conversion to DHN.

      For the most part, 19 Nor Steroids (Nandrolone) are effective anabolic stimulants to begin with, so with the modification at the 4th position CSS has set the stage for creating the perfect “safe and effective” steroidal nutrient. What happened to all that stuff about oral availability?…very clever Dear Mr. Watson. CSS addressed the factor of poor oral bioavailabilty by attaching a long chain carbon ester at position 17a to render the compound “orally active {8}.” To time its precise release, each liquid hard-shell is coated with a specific and precise enteric coat that maintains the integrity of the capsule until it clears the stomach and reaches the duodenum (small intestine) {9}. The capsule dissolves in the duodenum where its potent Norbolone-ester mixes with bile that is produced from cholesterol in our liver and concentrated in our gallbladder {10}. Bile contains lecithin, which emulsifies the fatty acid long chain Norbolone-ester molecule. This increases the surface area of fat exposed to fat-digesting enzymes and speeds up the rate at which the fatty material can be digested by these particular enzymes. Fat-digesting enzymes are made by our pancreas and released into the food mixture in the first part of our small intestine (Figure 5.). Digestion and absorption of the solubilized Norbolone-ester molecule continues on into the lymph vessel where it reaches the main portal vein as it passes through our small intestine to the Jejunum.

      Conclusion

      After evaluating all factors, it’s logical to conclude that TMM-100 (Norbolone-ester) fits all the ideal characteristics of the perfect steroidal nutrient: Safe, Effective and Orally Active. Welcome to the 22nd century of perfect Pharmanutrients.

      The effective dose is 2 capsules twice daily preferably with meals. Cycles are ideally held within 6-8 weeks and for a maximum of no longer than 12 weeks on with at least 1/2 the time off. 3-4 cycles a year are for those interested in gaining solid muscle mass and to combat post-workout catabolic effects.
