    I was surpised not to see this question addressed when I ran a search. Do any of you have any research info on the positives and negatives of coffee before a workout? Thanks.

    I just read an article about how many bb'ers where drinking coffee before workouts for the extra boast from the caffeine. Think it was in an issue of MD. Just watch what you put in the coffee....skip the sugar/cream. I drink iced coffee w/ fat free half and half or ff milk and always equal instead of sugar.

      Ya, when I drink coffee I drink it black so I'm not worried about the added carbs or fat. Thanks bro, anyone else got any info?

        caffeine within two hours of a workout helps to boost the metabolism and increases fat loss.....drink it black- take it like a man!...i get a Starbucks venti (large for those in the boonies) ice coffee before every workout...im addicted!

          I'm not sure about the research aspect of your question, but I like drinking coffee before my workout. I agree with Cwb, just watch what you put into it.

            i just take an eca before workout but cannot function in the morning with out a cup or 2.

              I totally agree. I use caffeine on days that I don't feel psyched up in order to get me "energized" about 20 minutes before my workout.

              By the way... if I drink copious amounts of caffeine, it FLUSHES my digestive system and gives me slight intestinal cramps. Does anyone else get this effect from caffeine?
              I know nothing about any of this insanity... it's just a fun game to me.

                    I'm glad I'm not the only freak... I typically drink some caffeine before I sprint... get rid of that "extra" weight!
