I drink about 12 cups of pure water by itself everyday. However, when I make a protein shake and add the protein to the water does this count as an actual cup of pure water? What about when I add dextrose to water, does that count as pure water? How about milk? Thanks.

what do you mean by pure water? Distilled or drinking water and not eating anything? I have seen where people say that if you put something in the water, then it doesn't count toward the gallon or more that you are suppose to drink, but I have never seen any scientific data that goes along with this. Food that has a certain amount of water in it doesn't count. Whole foods, canned foods, etc, are types that wouldn't count.

there's controversy in terms of the amount of daily liquids vs just water intake.
Personally I drink 1.5gallons of water a day, and thats JUST water, I dont count the water added to my teas or protein shakes. Aside from my morning coffee that does it for liquids anyways.
