    UCP-1 Description:
BDC Nutrition has done it again with this fat loss breakthrough! This innovative product consists of a unique and synergistic combination of ingredients that work to deliver remarkable fat loss. BDC Nutrition is the first and only company to offer a a product of this caliber.

With the elimination of ephedra-based products from the market due to the rise of insurance costs, the supply of effective fat loss products has declined considerably. The herbal (ephedra free) blends may offer some relief, but the feedback from these products has been less than promising. Allow BDC Nutrition to introduce you to the new revolution of fat loss products, a blend that will replace the loss of the traditional ECA stack.

The product contains three substances that work synergistically to promote amazing fat loss. Lets examine the science:

    USNIC ACID
Usnic acid is known as an uncoupler of oxidative phosphorylation. In the body, energy is created through converting glucose and fatty acids to ATP. By uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation, the body is hindered in its ability to convert glucose to energy. This process creates a need for other sources to supply the body with ATP and forces the body to utilize fatty acids for its conversion to ATP. In other words, your body is reliant on using your stored fat to supply it with energy. Obviously one can see the benefit here!

    L-CARNITINE
Besides its effectiveness in recovery from exercise-induced stress, L-carnitine also plays an extremely important role in transporting free fatty acids to the mitochondria to be burned. Lets back it up a bit. When liver glycogen levels are high, the amount of malonyl-CoA is present in high amounts. In addition, when the liver is full of glycogen, lipogenesis is high and the amount of fat breakdown or lipolysis is low. This is because malonyl-CoA inhibits the action of CPT-1 (carnitine palmityl tranferase 1). Now, the feedback on the use of L-carnitine for promoting fat loss thus far has been rather weak. This is because when used without an uncoupler, liver glycogen levels are generally high and CPT-1 cannot do its job. With the addition of an uncoupler, increased lipolysis will be promoted. Because uncouplers of oxidative phosphorylation significantly reduce the amount of glucose conversion to ATP, malonyl-coa will also be reduced and CPT-1 will become active, thus significantly increasing the amount of free fatty acid oxidation. Through supplementation of L-carnitine, more free fatty acids will be transported to the mitochondria to be converted to ATP, and thus, fat burning will increase.

    PYRUVATE
Pyruvate is the end product of glycolysis and is converted to acetyl-CoA. From here, acetyl-CoA is oxidized to CO2 and H2O via the kreb’s cycle and yields energy in the form of ATP. Pyruvate becomes important through its speculation to help spare the carnitine pool. In addition it has the ability to catalyze the rapid transport of high-energy electrons from mitochondria to the cytoplasm, thus stimulating electron shuttle mechanisms. When combined with an uncoupler, pyruvate will help speed up the reverse electron transport and in essence, allow for more utilization of free fatty acids by hindering the generation of ATP from glucose.

Together, this proprietary blend of ingredients will send your fat loss soaring. One should take note that this product does not contain any stimulants and thus, will not leave you jittery or induce insomnia – 2 potential sides effects of ephedra and caffeine. DIRECTIONS:
As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules three times daily. Do not exceed 9 capsules in any 24-hour period. Do not exceed 2 weeks of continuous use without cycling off for a minimum of 2 weeks.

Its an uncoupler, meaning its very potent..... theres a broad range of opinions on Usnic Acid... I think its safe if used correctly, just like anything else... others will differ... regardless, I have heard nothing but positive feedback from it.

I'll let YJ explain what an uncoupler is. I'm sure he has a bunch of articles ready to go =)

As far as people's results with it. They have been excellent. I ran a 2 week cycle of it. My results weren't earth shattering but I know I didn't keep my carb level up enough. There is no point in taking it if you don't keep your carbs high. I believe the recommended % of carbs is 30% or more. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

there are plenty of negative users posts indicating severe rashes and lack of results.

there are positive reports as well, though to say that there are no negative ones is a bit ludicrous.

there are the limited but definitely real liver failures that have occured with its use.

No one said there were negative ones. With any supplement, you will inevitably have negative reports, you for one should know.

there are more threads but these were shorter and contained both lack of results and rash posts
