If you do a medline search under ribose supplementation, you will see that all the studies that looked at ribose for performance enhancement showed no benefit from ribose supplementation. Here are some samples. The conclusion of the first one pretty well sums it up:
Oral ribose supplementation with 4-g doses four times a day does not beneficially impact on postexercise muscle ATP recovery and maximal intermittent exercise performance
I eat at least 6 times a day to build my body
I pray at least 6 times a day to build my soul
