  • Nephew in Ironman Mag

    Hey all,

I thought this was pretty cool and wanted to share it. My wife's nephew is in Ironman Magazine. Pic is attached. He is only 23 years old and has been competing for about 2 years in bodybuilding. Prior to that he did powerlifting and set the world record for a teenager in his weight class. He set the record in Russia with a 365 lb bench at 181 lbs (I believe 181).

Anyway, he decided he didn't want to power lift anymore and entered his first bb contest which he placed second in, then entered a second one and placed first. He is filipino and has amazing genetics. I really think he might be a top 1 Mr. O one day. I was the one who told him he should compete in BB because he was so damn shredded as a power lifter. Though I'm not saying he took my advice because I said it, I just used to always ask him what the hell he was messing with PL for when the money for him would be in BB.

I meant I think he might be a top 10 Mr. O competitor one day, no top 1. Who knows though, he may win it one day down the road. He's a little short though, I think around 5' - 6".

Thank everyone! I am happy for him. He truly works hard to succeed and everyone told him to go to school and try for a real career. He quit college and his Dad kicked him out so he moved out to Vegas and stayed with us for a summer until he got on his feet and became a trainer and joined the US Power lifting team. Then he made some friends in the business and moved on with his career and goals. He moved back to his home city and seems to be doing great.
