    Re: Epicondylitis

BABY1 mentioned some kind of pressure treatment for tennis/golfers elbow. I see my physio tomorrow but I am practicing it right now on my own so I can have questions and ask for specific suggestions on how to do it myself. Here is a link to the pressure treatment I am talking about. You do it yourself with your fingers and thumbs and, well, just click and see. They have a friendly ying yang sign on their page too. The first half is tennis (lateral) elbow and the second half is golfers (medial) elbow.

Alleviating Tightness For Tennis and Golfers Elbow

I will update this with what the physio says and recommends.

      Re: Epicondylitis

Physio asked what I do now for stretching and I pretty much named all the ones that she was going to recommend. She didnt do the Pressure thing this visit but she did you use an ultrasound on the tendons. Felt nice and guess who got his gf an at home ultrasound wand so he could hear his lil man's heart beat? This guy. Wonder if it will work the same.

Get a plAstic container big enough to put your elbow in..a small box will work. Fill it with ice and water and plunge your elbow in there and keep it there for as long as you can handle..I can go up to 15 minutes without frostbiting myself LOL...Thats another thing I did and it really helped my elbows and it doesnt cost anything unless you buy a bag of ice

Oh I am icing. Right now doing using ice gel packs ace bandaged around my elbows post wo, before bed, and I try 1-3x in addition to that daily depending on whats going on that day ya know. I have a foot bath tub I use to soak my feet i and I have had the thought of filling with ice and putting my elbows in. Thank you for reminding me of that. Just now I refilled the ice trays. At first the ice is too cold, then as time goes on, its never cold enough. I will lyk if I can beat your time lol.

              Re: Epicondylitis

Thanks Heavy Hitter. I may have set myself back tho. But I told Dzone Id do something and theres a nice story to tell to go along with it...

Told the manager of a liquor store id help him move a dough mixer. No big deal right. Tonight he hits me up. I know hes going to pay me and probably give me some free booze to boot. So I do all my normal pre wo stretches from the APT, flexors, extensors, wrists and shoulders, back, legs everything. I have some bakery background so I know these things are heavier than they look. put on my elbow sleeves and get to work. Holy hell, what a shit show. I am not an experienced mover, I lift things up and put them down ya know.

When its all done I look post wo, dripping sweat head to toe, eyes bloodshot, and my mind just yelling at me saying you dumb jerk, your elbows! So i get a good 3 digit pay, free booze, and 2 big bags of ice. For the booze? Hell no. For my elbows. I dumped a bag into the foot bath and put cold water over it and dunked my elbows. Dzone was not kidding, best icing of my entire life. I stayed in that thing for 35 straight minutes. My girl put an extra long straw in my pstock so i didnt have to take them out. I undunked and dunked 2 more times for 10 mins each.

when a job comes your way you gotta take it. That is life. I will update tomorrow on where my elbow saga stands. Thanks FG and Lord plz dont let my elbows suffer. Hard work for money earned is righteous...I hope...and may i have another bag of ice for my foot bath plz?

                Re: Epicondylitis

Good morning. I promised an update. Are my elbows hurting? Yes they are. Are they as bad as I thought they would be? Thankfully, no. How would I describe the pain? Not as bad as my last tricep workout before getting serious about addressing the issue. So What's next? I will be taking the next few days off from the gym and hopefully return next week. In the mean time I will be icing my elbows with ice cubes and cold water and with ice packs wrapped in ace bandages, APT, stretching, and rest.

I am taking this moment to say to everyone who has taken the time to post, PM, chat box, and call with their knowledge, experience, assurance, and encouragement ... Thank you.
