  • weight dropped on sternum

Hey everyone figured I would share my dumb experience I had today..so I was doing my routine chest workout today while blenching I was on my 4th set I locked out my last Rep with 405 and when I went to rack it it slipped out of my hands and fell directly on my sternum...and before asked I was using suicide grip( thumbs wrapped behind) and I did have a spotter but he just backed up becouse I was locked out going to rack it...needless to say once pulled off me It took a few minutes to be able to breathe normal again...I'm sore but I'm just in awe that it hit where it did and didn't break my top. Ribs... I am sore tho...I know I'm retiring that grip and def. Gonna have spotter shadow till I'm out from weight...just figured id share... cant weight for the soreness goes away

Gotta be careful. But I use a suicide grip when I go heavy. Don't love the grip. That's just how I learned to suck my elbows in on my down. Fast recovery bro.

Dang that sucks bro. Hope you heal up fast. Reminds me of the time I got kicked in the chest by a horse. I thought I was going to die. Lucky.

I hope to be back at it next week...figured I shouldn't try to work around this ..so a week off then hopefully back to the big weight ..lol as long as the light weight feels okay
