I take celebrex and celebrex is a medicine that needs to be used long term for 3-6 months at a time before it will work. You usualy take celebrex 2x a day it does work but you need a month in you before you se results sometimes but it works. If you have it take it like it says to. And if someone has bursitis that bad it needs to be surgicly removed by taking out all of the inflammed tissue in your elbow. You need to get cortizone shots by a orthopedic or a trigger point therapist. Dave they probably gave you a medrol dose pak you use for 6 days. There also is relafin on the market

Just start back slow, and with a lighter weight than you usually do. If it starts to hurt again, ice it right away when you get home. You are really lucky that that dosepack worked.
i dont know if it worked or my not lifting worked, lol.....but he did say to ice it after every workout...i'm bad wiht that!! i dont ice anything, lol. i really dont think it worked though....the pain was about all gone before i even did the dosepak, but i wanted to know what the prob is. its still swollen and hasnt gone down...but the xray showed no bone problem

Did an ortho view the x-ray or did your regular doc? Also, the xray only shows tha bones and not any soft tissue. I remeber when I had my hip xrayed and the radiologist read the films as "normal" and as soon as the orthopedic doc looked at it, he saw the impingement.
nope...an ortho didnt...but he said that it didnt show soft tissue and he was already of the idea that it was brutitus (sp?)...he just wanted the xray to confirm...

You need a MRI and injections of cortizone to see if the pain goes away or not.Bursitus is painful but to the degree your saying it has to be more like, bone spurs or somekind of tear some where in that area. You need a ortho to read them not a regular doc. If your in that much pain then it cant be just bursitus or tendinitus
