    Stack these two supplements to boost mood and strength

    ■ DMAE Dimethylaminoethanol, an analogue of choline, is
    important for proper brain and muscle function. Research shows that
    supplementing with DMAE increases choline levels in the brain better
    than using choline itself. Having higher choline levels increases
    acetylcholine, which is a critical neurotransmitter involved in brain
    processes and muscle contraction. Boosting this neurotransmitter
    results in better mental function, better focus and drive in the gym,
    better muscle endurance and strength, improved mood and a greater
    sense of well being.


    ■ Rhodiola rosea This root extract increases the body’s resistance
    modulating neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine and
    serotonin. These are important for good mood, especially during the
    winter, when the amount of sunlight decreases. Rhodiola also improves
    performance in the gym, has been shown to increase the levels of
    betaendorphins that reduce pain and improve mood, and even helps to
    free up fat from fat cells, particularly during exercise.


    ■ Take It Like This Take 100-200 milligrams of DMAE once or
    twice per day and 100-500 mg of Rhodiola standardized to 3%
    rosavins and 1% salidrosides two to three times per day. Take both
    on an empty stomach.
