I was wondering if someone should count the protein shake after workout as a meal, or just a supplement after workouts.

Should post-workout protein be considered a meal

I think it needs to be counted in your daily caloric intake, but I wouldn't consider it a meal. You still should eat a meal with protein, complex carbs and good fats, within about an hour or so after your workout. This is in addition to your workout drink which should be consumed asap following your workout. Also, if you just do cardio, that post workout drink is not really necessary.Veritas Vos Liberabit
