      I got into about a 2 year rut where my only concern was gaining mass. I would cram every ounce of food into my face that I could find. My weight ended up hitting an all time high of 294 pounds. After I decided that I had gained enough mass I wanted to drop the fat, but that type of change doesn't come easy. When you are used to cramming any and every morsel of food you see into your mouth for years at a time it is a hard adjustment to make. This is my advice.

      Learn early that this is going to suck for a while. No one likes eating healthy, but once you start becoming more healthy you will enjoy it.

      Set a goal. Tell yourself that you will eat healthy for only 8 weeks and then you will reassess where you are and decide whether or not you want to continue with high fiber ZERO sugar and all that stuff. I guarantee that once you get to the 8 week mark you won't want to stop.

      Do NOT get off the wagon!!! Once you get where you need to be don't look back! That is the biggest mistake.
