TweetWhew!!!! I got the same e-mail and I was in panic!!! I didn't realize that the e-mail came from dea.com instead of .gov.

TweetI haven't gotten an email like that...but it would scare the shiot-out-of-me....
Thank the "God of Gear" for a forum like this, where each of us can get a handle on something like this..
TweetYOU KNOW....NOW THAT YOU SAY THAT, I GOT AN EMAIL A FEW DAYS AGO FROM THEM, AND THEY WANTED TO MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR THAT THEY WERE IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THIS OTHER SITE.(IT NAMED THE SITE...I JUST DIDNT RECOGNIZE IT)....COMPATITION PROB.Originally Posted by THE PROFESSOR

TweetIt has to be hacked or something. First its not illegal to buy pins, second i noticed that the return address of the email was DRUGDEALER@DEA.COM but they wouldnt use a .com, it would be a .gov
TweetI placed my order last Wednesday and just picked it up at the post office. The site MUST have been hacked. Hopefully, there will be an explanation on the site soon. They have now removed all the "Drug Dealer" refferences from the site and are running this statement on every page:
Our store is currently closed, please come and visit us shortly.

Tweeti recieved 3 of those emails today. Gotta say there scare tactic worked... until i came to my favorite research center
TweetAm I the only one that is concerned about just what information the hackers had access to? I don't give a rat's ass about the scare tactic emails and such but if someone buys a new TV with my credit card I'm not going to be a very happy camper.
I get that the email is a fake (I said that when I started this thread) and I get that it was likely a competitor. My concern is that someone was able to access their customer database and I'd really like to know what kind of information is stored in that database. There's another layer to this whole thing - forget about law enforcement - we know that's fake.
Think about identity theft & think about the fact that their security was lax enough to let this happen in the first place.
TweetI just spoke with a friend in FL, and he got the same 3 emails.
A few days ago I got the email referring to gearbox.
Some strange shit going on!!
Tweetwell the website is down.. someone either hacked their main index.php file/folder and got access to their entire system.. + which means they got all the information about their customers... but its nothing to worry about folks.. the only thing they can get their hands on is your e-mail addy. All information such as your home/po box addy, credit card number etc is all encrypted and then destroyed.
I`m sure the owners of getpinz.com have all their backup files which should be restored shortly.
This is a joke, and this is some lamer - wanna be hacker.
DEA can suck a big dick, buying pins is legal.
TweetI just received a phone call from a good bud of mine who in turn called Getpinz and was told that their server was in fact hacked and that the authorities are looking into that. Now since the server was hacked and whoever did it might also have people credit card info, to take whatever precautions they deem necessary to protect themselves. There is nothing illegal they sell on the site so nobody has anything to worry about with that, just if the hackers decided to use people's credit cards, then there would be some concern there. The site should be back up shortly.
