blood after injection
TweetA friend of mine (and by friend, I don't mean me) shot himself in the left delt yesterday, aspirated clean, and proceeded to inject. Everything was fine until he pulled the needle out, and a pinhole stream of blood literally squirted out of the injection site. Did he just nick a vein on the way out or what? He was using a 25 gauge needle and he stuck himself about 20 minutes after working out. After the blood had stopped (only a few seconds) a small bump formed at the injection site, but later went away. So what's the deal?

TweetLOL, I've had a similar stall experience. It sucks cause you have to clean it up. But it happens and it won't hurt you. You have to have your alcohol pads ready. I like to just apply pressure to the injection site for a min or 2 - or until it stops bleeding. This will reduce bruising.

TweetIf the blood actually shoots out, then you did not hit a vein but an artery. Veinous blood flow is low pressure and will ooze out. Arterial blood flow is the high pressure and will def. squirt. Should be a brighter red in color due to the oxygenation. Veinous blood is darker.

i have had it happen once as well in the glute. i was like did i waste all the gear? i wasnt worried about the blood i was more concerned with the cyp/eq.
