      Yes you can. You've got acne. Thats all he needs to know. In my search for a cure for acne and also upper back pain. I would reasearch different drugs and then "I" would pick what I wanted. PDR is a book that most doctors use its also online. Just pick the one you want print out the info. take it to the doc.

      Be nice;
      I want your opinion on this?
      Do you think it will help?
      etc
      etc

      acne comes from two things. for whatever reasons, (aas, puberty, your genetics, etc) you produce a lot of sebum - the oil on your skin and

      1)the pores get plugged up. and
      2) bacteria in the pores causes your body to send white blood cells in there to fight the foreign matter. It gets red and inflamed as it tries to clear the blockage.

      so the blackheads you get like around your nose, they are just plugged up pores, but if you get bacteria in there, then they get red and *****.

      you attack the acne 2 ways NO MATTER HOW IT IS CAUSED, you get an antibiotic, either topical or oral (minocycline, tetracycline, etc) to kill the bacteria and/or you get something to keep the pores clear. Retin-a, and accutane strip off the outer layers of the skin that for whatever reasons is causing a blockage of the pore. the pore should ideally be just like a tube, no restrictions at the top at all. the oil flows freeely, and all you have is oily skin. but for whatvere reasons, the pores get restricted at the top where the oil comes out, then you have problems. So retina-a and accutane do nothing for the bacteria but they get rid of whatever is blocking the pore. tetracycline does nothing for the blockage, but it kills the bacteria. Ideally, you want to hit both angles. president clinton has adult acne, as do whole lot of other people, it is in my family so even in my 30's, i get break outs when not on a cycle unless i take something for it.

      i currently use benzamycin (sp?) gel and it works wonders. clear skin - i could do aftershave commercials - even on a cycle. stop taking the stuff for 2 weeks and i have problems. its a combo of erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide. your body will eventually get used to one or the other and it becomes less efective. but when the two are combined, they body does not get used to either and it stays effective.

      i tried everything, and i mean everything for a number of years until i found this stuff. i went thru a number of dermatologists and one old **** got offended when she wanted to give me tetracycline again, and i asked her about an at the time new drug for acne, so you run the risk of pissing the doc off, but fuck her she didnt know shit. i went to another doc, who is the head of derm at my hospital, he heard all the stuff i tried and wondered why no one had suggested the gel. he put me on it and w/i a month i was blemish free. you need a scrip, but it is only about 60$ for a one month supply retail for the generic stuff. $10 with my copay.

      so your doc is not going to care why you have breakouts, you do not have to tell him a thing as ryker says.

      and dont forget about salycylic acid. look at the otc acne stuff. it contains about 2% of it as the active ingredient. try this:

      buy a bottle of generic aspirin. all aspirin is is salicylic acid. buy a bottle of 70% or 90% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) you can get both at the grocery store for less than 10 bucks. crush up a few hundred tabs of the aspirin into powder and dump it in the alcohol. shake it up and apply with a cotton ball. when the alcohol dries you will have a white residue. this is almost pure salicylic acid. if you dont think it does anything, dont wash your hands after you apply the stuff. in a couple of days, when the skin is peeling at your finger tips, you will see how strong the stuff is.

      i put that on my back and it takes care of bacne. (but you can also use the gel there) you may have to put it on for a few days (face is ok too, but i would suggest every other day for face, and dont get in in eyes or creases around nose - too strong.) but it takes the outer layers of the skin off and the pores open up. same as retin-a or accutane. it will cause your skin to peel like accutane or retin-a, so dont bother trying to stay tan, your shoulders and face will peel.

      but if you have insurance, ask for the benzamycin gel

      Good info I aqgree but accutane is the ONLY medication that will treat cystic acne, I know because I too have tried everything and been to many derms. Accutane is working great for me right now. I also have Defferin (adapaline gel) which is a very good topical. I think people always find something that works best for them and maybe not for others, however, I believe my doc is right in saying accutane is the only effective way to fight cystic acne, and cystic acne is what I get on my back from AAS.

      I do not condone the use of, nor do I use anabolic or androgenic steroids. My participation on these boards is for informational purposes only. I have done extensive research of AAS and enjoy discussing them for role playing enjoyment.
