I always found a friend to do it for me. I'm not scared of the needle, just the act of sticking myself.
I want very badly to do this on my own......what suggestions can yall give me in order to break myself in on doing this <----- without passing out and hitting my head on the bowl! I find it very uncomfortable to reach around to my glutes with a pin in one hand, handling the aspirating steps, and then the concern of flexing and jumping around since I can see it coming etc.
Any tips from guys who taught themselves to get over this?

TweetI've never had anyone help me. My first shot was by myself. Don't think about it just do it. The pain is nuthing compared to pain you've probably experienced before. I would recommend a quad shot first. Easy, convienent, fast and safe. Don't think about it.

Oh I've had plenty experience in sticking - other people who were on.....just have a hard time inflicting that on myself
As far as quads...i get the impression that spot would hurt more because of less fat, huh?

TweetI'm new to sticking myself and so far I have done only glutes (gonna have to do quads though after reading all the posts about it lately) - only suggestion I would have is - Listen to yourself for a minute! You can stab someone else but not yourself? It is just a needle - and a very thin one at that, you already know what it is going to feel like - just do it. Take a deep breath, think about getting bigger, and push it in. If you can make yourself get under that squat rack or lay on that bench under all that weight you sure as hell can give yourself an injection. Don't take this as an insult - What I am trying to say is it is all just your frame of mind. Tell yourself whatever you have to. Call yourself a puss if you don't do it, tell yourself you're a man and can take it, whatever you need to think to get yourself into a frame of mind where there is no choice about doing it. Something will motivate you mentally - find what it is and use it - and you will get used to it soon.

I'm thinking I'll have to lean near a wall or doorway for support. Other than that, I'm concerned about it moving around a whole bunch while I aspirate (i may not do that though) and start the pushing of the plunger.
Yeah, I know what it will feel like, and it is the frame of mind too.

TweetI did my first ever injection in my shoulder, it went easier than I ever thought it could. My bro had the same problem you do until I showed him the correct way to inject and aspirate, now he will never have anyone inject him again.
First take a warm shower and relax. Get all your paraphernalia ready, wash your hands and clean the site with rubbing alcohol, if you don't have any use vodka.
If I were you I would try a shoulder injection before the quad (I just think the quad is a bit creepier) When I inject into my shoulder I sit in my chair, find the spot, then lay my shoulder across my desk and push (not jab) the pin in.

TweetIs your friend always going to be around ? Before you do anything , you must be able to trust yourself . I'm a puss when it comes to darts myself . But when it came time for my first dart there was no one around . I did the research on my own it's all right here on the net. bro . My first shot was in my right guad . Easy to get too , and you can't control the dart with both hands . I sat on a bed after a hot shower took a deep breath and hit it slowly so you can tell what's going on . After I got use to doing the quads I started hitting the delts with one hand . You'll get use to it in no time . And you feel better knowing you did it yourself .
