We evolved for almost 200,000 yrs as homosapiens and for 2 million yrs as hominids in an environment that had severe calorie restriction and high activity, fresh meat, fruits, veggies, and when we did master agriculture and grain production, for almost 10,000 yrs, farmers burnt approx 10,000 calories a day busting their butts plowing, raking, bailing etc. Only in the last 100 yrs or so did we break what took millions of years of adaption so our bodies would be so incredibly energy efficient. Now, it's killing us. This mismatch between what we evolved to eat and do for most of our existance and the present is why there is so much disease.
