I'm a huge fan of Day Lillies because they come back here in Colorado. This year is the 2nd and 3rd year for most of the ones I planted so they are HUGE. The bushes are already 2.5 feet tall and they flowers are just about to come out. They bloom late spring through summer here but I love them.

Yours are Tiger Lillies, right? Those get like 3.5 feet tall if that's what they are and you can plant them behind all kinds of lower blooming flowers and have this wall of color.

I'll have to post some pics of my Columbine, that's our state flower so it grows very well and then drops seedlings and every year they get thicker and thicker. They are probably the cooles flower I've ever seen. The look like something from another planet.

As with all flowers, there are different types but they go great mixed in with Lillies.

nope they are asiatic lilies and they will not grow much taller then they are now which is about 2ft. she put them in the blank spots to ad more color to the garden and they are her favorite but i guess that is pretty easy to assume from her handle

I am from Maine and orange Day Lilies are EVERY where wild, but i didnt want all the foliage that goes with day lilies,..so the asiatics worked best for what i wanted and the blossoms are larger..just gorgeous.......they are similar to the Stargazer Lilies which i love and Snick buys for me all the time on his way from work

this is a tiger lily which is another of my favorites

If you go with a bush, the 'Burning Bush' has these very bright red leaves that are awesome. Also, there are butterfly bushes too, that's what I have on the side. They can get up like 5-6 feet tall and the same width and just covered with flowers. But, there are big targets for spider mites which are near impossible to kill I have discovered. You have to start sprying for the mtie as soon as it starts coming back, but if it can get a full run, they are get huge with lots of green leaves and various flower colors. Then you get they added bonus of the butterflies which are just cool IMO.

As for the Lilly, that's a great one you guys used.
