TweetI will put together a real recipe later bro.
What size slow cooker? I think mine is 4.5 pints or quarts.
Tweetperfect time of year for that too. im gonna have to try this but replace guinness with water.
TweetSo what I do is pretty much a break down of what I want in each bowl. I had 1.5lbs of meat. So I figured 3-4 servings. So with the meat out of the way I pretty much divided out what I want for veggies in each serving x3. It's about 5 cups total of veggies. Prominently potatoes and carrots. I used bell peppers instead of celery, added mushrooms and corn cause I love em. Instead of getting too involved with spices I used a packet from crocpot. Not ideal in the health dept. But that's not what I was going for anyway.
A stew recipe calls for only about 1.5 cups of water plus a croc pot seasoning packet. I mixed 1/3 beef broth, 1/3 water, 1/3 guiness. 2 cups total liquid is fine. Stew still came out thick.
Straight water with one of those packs I'm sure would work fine alson if you wanted to ditch the beef broth or guiness.
Only real prep was cubing up the venison and searing it on the outside before adding it in.
Cool on low for 8 hours and it came out perfect.
I am going to post up a legit formatted recipe soon. Hope that helps for now
TweetWish I had some elk! My dad has some moose meat I have been dying to get my hands on.
Going to a huge game dinner on the cape in april. Can't wait!
TweetThanks bro, my first go at it. Have some tweaks to make, but it was good on the first try.
I'd hook you up bro, 90% of what I have left is ground. Perfect for meatballs, meatloaf and chili.
