TweetWith the return of IVC, I would love to see the unified rules allow the headbutt. You would see less pulling guard, less leaning against the cage, and no more damage than heavy knees. The headbutt is a great close in tool. It also makes me wonder how much the Gracie's, who brought MMA to America, had to do with putting together unified rules. BJJ artists do not like the headbutt at all. Can you imagine giving somebody like Jon Jones or nick Diaz another weapon to develop. I don't think it will ever happen, because of the need to appeal to mainstream America, it's so primal and ugly when somebody gets knocked out with a big old head.
