TweetIt's not just Fuzo, everyone that watched it with me (all GSP fans) said the same thing. He fights safe. That is the difference between fighters like GSP and BJ. BJ will beat you at your best game just to show you that he can. GSP would never do that. Tonight was a perfect example of what I mean by GSP not having great standup. This was his perfect opportunity to show his standup, but he didn't. His standup is good but nowhere near great.

GSP has been my 2nd favorite fighter forever, but fights like tonight (IMO) hurt his legacy more than it helps it. Hardy was a fighter that many thought had no place in the octagon with GSP.....and it went to decision. It was not a good night for GSP.


And this is coming from a few GSP fans, so it's not hate.

I'm with you on this one Fuzo. I like him but he is a bit boring to watch and plays it safe.

Wow tnz I thought you were going to rip me a new ass,lol but i'm happy you see what I see and many others see about gsp.And I know your a Gsp fan. And I was one of those guys who thought he shouldnt of had a fight with Gsp but changed my mind.I wanted so bad for Gsp to show the world he would beat hardy by his own game stand up and pussied out and took him down again and again. GSP fights to win and WHO doesn't? All the fighters do what they do best, whether it stand up or take down. GSP does what he has to do to keep/defend the belt and ultimately get the bigger pay cheque in the end. Plain and simple. What's there not to get?

I'm sure he doesn't give to shits about his legacy right now...why because I'm almost positive he will be in the game for while YET. Although were talking about his legacy right now??

TweetBoring? that was one of the most lopsided fights in UFC history.... One judge had 50-43.. thats unheard of.. if your a real fan of the gme you would have loved that fight...they didnt stand up much, but GSP won that part of the fight as well... you have to give it to Hardy, anyone else would have tapped out in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd.. rounds.. GSP could have won a standup only fight ... but its MMA.. not boxing

bull shit even gsp said in a interview after the fight he wasnt going to stand with hardy because that was hardys strong point and that was a direct quote from gsp on ufc.com

TweetWell I for one was pulling for Hardy but I would have 100% rather seen him get KTFO rather than the boring fight I saw.

Yes GSP is by FAR the best wrestler in the WW division. It just seems honestly like he is scared to stand since the Serra incident. Yea he does do what he has to in order to win, but this is entertainment and as the consumer I was not satisfied last night. I don't know anyone who has the strength to match up with the wrestling of GSP in that division right now. Koscheck if he could improve perhaps.

Is that not what they all do before a fight? figure out the what other opponents all about and capitalize on there weakness. I guess Harding should of figure he be taken to the ground and worked better on his ground game... but GSP dominate in the regard. TweetYou can't blame GSP for doing what he did and that is not what we are doing. But he fights not to lose, he doesn't fight to win. In his earlier days, he would have stood with Hardy but I think Serra has him gun shy now against anyone that has some standup.

Shiz, it was a very good performance and he followed his game plan perfectly I am sure...but he isn't as exciting as he used to be plain and simple. It was very lopsided, but that is only because it was kept on the ground. If the Palharres/Drwal fight would have stayed standing, it would have been just as lopsided because Palharres has no standup at all.

Anyway, GSP did an awesome job doing what he did, but it's not what he used to be...and he is supposed to be getting better??

Mr.Ontario...all of the legacy talk is coming from GSP himself, not us fans. The only reason it is brought up is because he talks about it in every interview that he has.
