TweetTHIS IS GONNA BE A GOOD ONE! IF GSP DEFEATS ALVES, HE IS ONE BAD AZZ! BUT, I THINK HE WILL HAVE HIS HANDS FULL!
TweetI can't wait to see this fight!! I think Alves is going to be tougher for GSP to beat than many think. It should be exciting nonetheless!“It’s going to be a good camp [in Colorado]. It’s going to be five weeks. We’ve got our house and everything, and all we are going to do is train and sleep and train…. It’s a title shot … I’m going to do everything I can to get there, and Colorado is just another thing that I have to do…. I’m going to look for the knockout. I’m going to make him pay for every mistake. I know he doesn’t make many mistakes, but … I’m going to make him make those mistakes, and he is going to pay for everything.”
Number one welterweight contender Thiago Alves has predicted that he will knockout division champion Georges St. Pierre ever since their explosive 170-pound title tilt was announced for UFC 100 on July 11. However, “The Pitbull” is leaving no stone unturned, training in the high altitude of the Colorado mountains five weeks before the match to be ready just in case it goes the distance. The Brazilian has never fought more than 15 minutes inside the Octagon in more than 10 career appearances. Will that change at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada, on fight night or is this one destined to end early? Weigh-in below in the comments section, maniacs.

TweetAlves is good for sure, and he can def knock him out. I just think GSP will take him down and control him. Should be good though.
TweetGSP will probably take him down and control him like he did penn. i think GSP will win. i also think alves is so explosive he will gas himself out in the start and if it goes 4-5 rounds it will make it easy for GSP
TweetI am interested to see how Alves does once he is taken down...and we know that GSP will get him down. If Alves is training 5 weeks in big bear, then he is definitely taking the cardio side of things seriously! People may be surprised to see that he doesn't gas out. I don't really see it going the distance though. One of these two will finish it in the first 3 I think.

TweetIt's going to be a bad ass fight. I've only see one of Alves' fights so I can't really say who has better skills, but I'm for GSP all the way!
Tweetthe only way that Alves can win this fight is with a one punch knockout

TweetI am pulling for Alves..guy is an absolute monster for 170...that being said GSP is all around better and should pick up the victory prolly by decision or submission
TweetI feel the same way Schiznick.... I think the only way that Alves will win this fight is with a knockout....Other than that, I'm pretty sure GSP has the confidence and slightly superior ability to be able to have the upper hand against Alves. Especially when it comes to on the ground......Just my opinion though....

TweetI agree that may be the only way that Alves can win this fight, but I must say that there is a pretty good chance that can happen. Alves has crazy power in his hands and knees and GSP still has a suspect chin....we will see
