first off kimbo will destroy shamrock.

second that was a helluva lucky punch. it didnt have much on it. but it hit in a spot there is a major nerve bundle. i do both brazilian and traditional jiu jitsu.

in traditional we use pressure points. on that spot we use a thumb knuckle to press the bundle and just with that little bit of pressure it will stun an opponent. (when it happens to you it feels like you got struck by lightning.

it is also hard to pinpoint. seth got real lucky. it was one in a million.

i dont like kimbo but as a fighter (even if a rank beginner) i do know first hand that things like this happen.

fuzo i still got $50 on kimbo with ya if ken fights him next.

TweetI think the turn of events with Ken played a big role in the loss. Like you guys said they thought Kimbo would KO Ken so they promoted the fight. With in injury they had to give people what they wanted and that was to see Kimbo fight. That was bad new for him though...lol. You could tell he was worried about it before he stepped foot in the ring.

Nothing about that fight was lucky. It was a straight jab on the button. People get KO'd with that all of the time. Kimbo is just not on that level of MMA yet. I have been saying this from day one. He should have lost the fight with Thompson. Seth fought exactly how he should have and would have won the fight regardless. I have seen many punches that don't look like they have much on them and end with the same results. I see it that Kimbo got lucky he didn't have to fight Ken. Shamrock would have been on him like a damn pitbull (assuming he didn't throw the fight). Everyone wants to say Kimbo was a man for stepping up when he didn't train for Seth...but no one is talking about how Seth was in the same situation. He stepped up and exposed Kimbo for what he truly is....no excuses. Kimbo lost to Seth, would have lost to Ken, should have lost to Thompson, and will keep losing when he fights anyone with any talent. He is on track to fight Gannon again and we will once again see Kimbo exposed. Gannon beat him once in the strret fights and Gannon couldn't even make it in MMA. I hate the word "lucky" when it comes to this sport. These guys train day in and day out so that these punches will become second nature. Seth didn't think about the punch he just threw instinctively and it landed exactly where it was supposed to. I have also trained and have seen people get KOd with alot less of a punch.


Ken will demolish Kimbo!!! As will everyone else that fights him as long as they aren't cans.

Tweetkimbo was coming in for a shot when seth threw that little light punch. it happens in almost every MMA fight and like i said this one was a perfect storm in this case. seth should play the lotto because his luck is through the roof.

as for gannon he was a trained fighter when kimbo was just a street tough with no formal training. i cant believe no one has put that fight together. the outcome would be very different now. brandon henkle messed gannon up on the ground.

the punch was a technically good punch what made it great was where it landed and that my friend was luck. watch it in slow-mo

BTW i am not a kimbo fan. just an astute observer of the sport and a mediocre fighter (at least thats what i call myself even if i have never had a real organized fight.)

You keep talking about the punch like it hit a 1/16th of an inch part that only 1 in a million guys ever get the chance to hit. People get hit there all of the time. All that did was stunned him, the punches he took after on the ground is what KO'd. I mean come on man....it wasn't a lucky punch. A lucky punch is when you aren't even looking at the guy and you just throw something and it happens to land. That punch landed right where Seth intended for it to land. It doesn't matter where you get hit in the head or face if it is solid and rattles the brain then you are going to be shaken up. There are just certain places on the head that get this done easier, i.e.,,,the temple, the side of the head (with a left hook). Anywhere on the chin pushes the jaw bone into the nerves. Its not like its a minute place. And the Gannon fight was a street fight with, supposedly, no MMA strikes. I know that Gannon threw some, but he beat Kimbo's ass in the stand up. Put it in a MMA arena where Gannon can use all his tools and the beating will be worse.

If anyone should play the lotto it is Kimbo. Like I said before, as soon as he fights someone that isn't washed up and has some skill, he will get exposed. That just happened. Kimbo is not on that level and if he can't KO you then he loses. To me, he lost the Thompson fight. The ref was told what to do in that fight.

TweetThe reason I ask this is because he was saying that Seth's KO was lucky. Seth was looking right at the spot where he wanted the punch to go.


Rashad on the other hand was looking at the floor as he was throwing his KO punch. So Seth through a good technical punch that landed right where he wanted it to. Rashad threw a punch and looked away hoping that it connected.

It was not a "lucky" punch... Fighters throw a hundred punches in a 3 round fight, some land some dont... sometimes they land just right, that doesnt mean its "lucky"

lucky would be ME or YOU going out there against one of these trained MMA fighters and landing a prayer and knocking them out... totally not the same...

I'm a HUGE Liddell fan and youll hear me bit*% about both shots that knocked him out and that they werent very hard of shots, but they are still coming from legitimate MMA professionalls and in NO WAY are "lucky"
