TweetSounds like your ready. make sure you don't calorie deplete to much now I'm sure those few extra pounds can be lost in water at this point. your gonna win dude.
Tweetsparred one of our best guys yesterday. he is always in phenomenal shape and i am not going to say i got the better of him because i did not but for the first round we were very equal. i faded quickly as i had already done 1 hr of intense physical training and my arms, shoulders andlegs were like jello.
this gives me great confidence. My 2 coaches told me i did better than they expected. this guy hits hard and stunned me once had to move and shake it off. but the guy i am fighting won;t hit like him. i just want to relax and box.

Squats make the world go round.
Tweetgood luck.. when you get in there let your training guide you...
Tweetthanks guys. my biggest concern now is not the fight but as it is out of state we have been allotted 2 hotel rooms by the promoter for 5 guys (Coach, corner man and 3 fighters)
coach and i are the oldest and probably the least worried about what anyone would think but i still don't want to sleep with another dude. i love my camp mates but damn.
it's all technique and game planning from here on in. let my body recover. watch my weight ( i am right on) i will bump calories to 1200 and watch.light roadwork to burn extra, shadow box to get a sweat and my lungs going and i am done. nothing i do now can help me. only hurt me. if i eat a burger and drink 4 beers that would be bad.
i plan on making this dude pay for the hell i have been through. eating like a super model, calling me on 17 days notice, making me do 1,500 gut works a week. any of the worlds problems i will blame on him. hell i blame him for the orginal van halen breaking up. and that pisses me off
TweetYou need to do the Dolph Lundgren: "I Must Break You"
You will have a 10000000000% strength increase lol jkjk
Hope that made you laugh, should lower cortisol ;D
Good luck bro hope everything goes well, keep focused you got it!

TweetAll I can say is dont go in all depleted with nothing in the tank. You said bump calories to 1200.? Yikes so you are eating less then that? I'm hoping you make weight and rehydrate.
Best of luck in this battle. Stop worring about your bunk mates. Dude your focus is on the fight. Get rest where ever you can.
I;ll add some food for thought. And it's none of my business. That being said if you want to excel in your sport there is not room for drinking enough beer to get out of shape. Booze does 00000 for your goals. 00000 for anything positive in your life. Be an athlete eat like and athlete. I get you need to eat up to train and repair your body.
The booze had 0 value towards your goals. You already know this.
Now go out there and be a champ in the ring.

TweetGOOD LUCK JIPPED! ITS A BIG STEP JUST GETTING IN THERE! PROUD OF YOU MAN!

Tweetabout 3 hours away in Norman, OK.
I have had no booze since i started this short camp. i have eaten well. I weighed 167# this morning. I have no idea how i gained weight. I need to cut fats and protein. I am pretty much healed up but i need my muscles full of glycogen from carbs.
i really wanted to be about 165# right now but my body is rebelling against this low calorie diet and i have not got time to change our game plan.
just need to eat lots of spinach and veggies and a little oatmeal and sweet potatos ect.
protein in the mornings and after my runs (2 left) i am going to follow coaches instructions he was a champ so he knows his stuff.
i will post pics after it's over.
Tweetsweet , looking forward to the results.. DO WORK..
Tweetseriously worried about my weight. it was coming off fast and now has stalled and actually started climbing. weighed 167# right out of bed which means 169# tonight.
looks like all carbs from here on in. no protein and very little fat. i can;t get rid of fat this late but i can shrink muscle a little maybe.
this is my first time cutting weight. dehydration is not an option as weigh ins are just a few hours before fight time. i am carrying a little more muscle in my back than i would like
TweetNot using dehydration takes away an easy alternative, but with those weigh ins....that sucks. I'm with you, no protein and lots of cardio may get rid of some of that muscle. You can do it man. Just stick to the plan. When are the weigh ins again? And what weight do you have to be at?

TweetTo be honest I have never heard of eating carbs in stead of just eating protein To try to drop weight. In the body building world if guys are on the weight fence they would not eat carbs at all and would only eat protein till they made weight.
Carbs bring in water if you are not really pushing water you will hold more water with the car bo hydrates. Protein does not attract water.
If you just lower total calorie with a little luck you will make weight if we are talking 1 or 2 pounds. I still dont know what the scale weight you are going for. Lastly you never know what a scale at an event will be like. Some weight heavy and some weigh light.
Good luck either way,

i understand from a BB perspective. but I need fuel for performance and have to cut calories. protein does not give me energy. I need to weigh in with my muscles full of glycogen even if the muscles are smaller. cutting for a BB show and for a fight will have very different results. in the old days guys cut using the BB methods. ken shamrock was one of the last of these dinosaurs. BB is not useful for fighting and fighting is not really useful for BB. its all good i like them both
cutting out salt helped. I am not going to gain fat from eating at this point, just weight of the food until it comes out LOL
brown rice 2X today with diced jalapenos washed the salt off the best i could, 1 apple, spinach, carrots for snacks, brussel sprouts and broccoli to fill me up, 8 almonds for a snack.
whew this is becoming REAL now that i am 1 day from my coach picking me up and us driving the 3+ hours to the hotel
i weighed 166# this morning. will weigh 167# tonight as long as i keep the salt down. will drink less water tomorrow afternoon and stay hydrated but limit ingestion of water until weigh ins. pedialyte after weigh ins just in case i am a little dehydrated. i should be rested well. tonight i am going to do a 2 mile light job just to stay loose and make my lungs work. some shadow boxing and then relax.
