TweetOK, squatting is one of my mainstays....I really need to mix it up a bit.
Are there alternatives that also hit the large muslce groups in the legs and will kick my butt as well???

TweetGlute Ham Raise (GHR) is one of my favorites, and pull-throughs qualify, but you're asking two different questions. As far as replacing squats (and its variations, including hack-squats), leg press is really your only option, and it's not nearly as good.
