TweetDIET AND TRAINING PLAYS A FACTOR HERE. YES ALL OF THE ABOVE WORK WELL
TweetWhat do you guys do to get that "cut" look on the bottom of your shoulder? You know that separation look, thats what i'm after and not sure if what i'm doing will get me that?
Shoulder Days:
- Military Press
- Standing (bent forward slightly) lateral raises
- Chin pullups with a barbell
- lateral raises with cables
I was told that doing the lateral raises with the cables is a good way to get that seperation? Is this the correct excercise i'm after? Thanks

Tweeti think you need to add in an rear delt movement to your routine other than that it's just building your delts big enough and getting lean enough forthem toshow
TweetIf you are lean and you lack the lower delt where it connects to the humerous bone then you need to do cable laterals. The reason is the tension is the same throughout the entire exercise where as with dumbbells the tension increases as you raise it. The difference is the load applied to the muscle. With cable laterals the load is even where as the load on db laterals is heaviest as the muscle shortens which can result in more development in the middle to upper part of the lateral delt. Next time you do delts do only cable laterals and tell me if you don't feel it more at the lower part of the delt. It makes perfect sense because the delt is trying to lift the humerous bone at full resistance so it has to pull harder while fully extended and you get better use of the muscle. At least, that's my opinion.
Tweetnow that is a good explanation for using cables instead of DB..
I prefer to not to lateral or forward raises, as they are more for sculpting, which is what this person is attempting to do..
again, great explanation..
