TweetThey make a balanced bar, but it would be expensive and not at all practical to carry to the gym with you
They make wrap around pads that are very padded, walmart has the cheapest one, sports authority carries them too
TweetIs there any special weight bar for doing squats and lunges?
My wife says the solid bar I have hurts her shoulders and is almost too heavy.
I have showed her how to wrap a towel around the bar for coushin, but she still says it's too heavy and awkward.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks

TweetYep buy one of those pads with the velcro closure - they look like the padding on a bicycle frame. Or you could buy her a "manta ray" squatting thingey - I have heard very good things about this from people who have used it.
Tweetthe safety squat bar. do a search. its actually a really good bar and its good for some Lifters to switch up and use as well.
TweetThis works good for me

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
Tweetmanta rays are nice when doing anything but heavy squats. They tend to dig in and cut you if too much weight is applied. Sounds like this is exactly what she needs. As far as the weight concerns go, They do have barbells that vary in weight but i dont know how low they go. Industry standard is a 45 lb BB, i have (2) 40 lb'rs as well. Your gym should be equipped with fixed weighted barbells going from 20ls -100 lbs, those are a nice change up for lunges as they arent nearly as long ( like 5' comapred to 7')
