TweetBro when I broke my sacrum I could not do anything dynamic with my legs. I asked my physio about that. She said swimming was the best. I used to swim laps until the gym with the pool closed. Honestly it helped my shoulders, rotator ect.
TweetMany know I have limited use of my legs. They have strength and flexibility but the nerves are damaged, so I use a walker for support.
I want to do aerobics too mostly the HIIT variant. So what form of aerobics/HIIT can I do with upper body?
I want to do a separate exercise to challenge my balance too. The form of nerve damage is called cerebellar ataxia also nerve induction shows loss
of nerve use in left leg.
I still do leg presses seated and strength is still there.

TweetMan that sucks I'm sorry you have to deal with that but you seem to have a good attitude
I NEVER did any cardio, even precontest sometimes, fast meta6but like you said I just turned 50 and things are changing I need to put in cardio not for fat burning but for cardiovascular help.
What can you do with limited use of your legs? You say you do leg presses so you must have some strength there or is it something affects you over a period of time and not long like a set of presses?
I've seen people use those hand held machines where you are basically pedaling with your hands not sure how effective it is.
Definitely good luck to you

TweetI have some strength in my legs. It is mostly balance issues that messes me up.
TweetI'm with Jipped, I think swimming is awesome and would have minimal impact on your joints and legs. I might start incorporating some of that into my training as we get closer to summer.
Tweethand bike seated battle ropes and rowing come to mind. if you want a serious kick in the nuts the rower and battle ropes will test your mental fortitude for sure. i am pretty damn good cardio shape and the rower wrecks me big time. plus the rower is eccentricless so it doesnt hamper your recovery to bad or at all for some

TweetThanks I will add these
TweetI always forget about the rower lol. I'm going to alternate that in too. I get so bored with cardio, so hopefully switching it up will make it more interesting.
Tweetthat damn thing kicks my ass as much as the stepper does and that's usually the only thing that gets my heart rate up. it is brutal
