TweetWhat is the purpose of this question?
We cant really tell you if its good or not honestly..
That is for you to decide. Where did you begin?
Curious what is your age?
What are your stats? Years training?
I love the pec deck!
Its a great finisher!
Great for shaping the chest!.
TweetYep, love the pec deck too! Most of them are different in terms of weight. Some of them say a heavier weight, but don't feel as heavy as others. I usually max out the machine on which ever one I'm using. Unless it's one that just goes ridiculously heavy. Try to keep my working sets rep range around 8-12.
TweetI go light and high reps. my right shoulder is fubar. I still seem to get brutal pumps. I just have to use good form and squeeze the pecs for a 2 count at max contraction.
Tweetwhile i was lifting waiting for surgery on my right shoulder and post surgery doing just the left arm on machine presses and pec dec with lighter weights. i used to go up to 170 pounds after incline presses and bench machine and feel strong but the pump and mind/muscle connection with 100 pounds was crazy intense. much sorer next day and chest looked better as well.
TweetWhen I was younger I demolished my rotator cuff on a nautilus pec dec. I didnt know any better and just kept using it, maxed out, even though it hurt like hell to use it. I thought you were supposed to ignore pain like that and keep training. Pec decs are good for pecs but also work great for tearing rotator cuffs.
TweetGood post dzone. yeah it is a machine that a lot of guys get hurt on like the delt raise machine thing. I have seen more than one guy screw up his shoulder with that thing.
Cables are better than either pec deck or delt raise machine. dumbbells are also way safer. They force you to go lighter as you must use your stabilizers.
TweetNot sure how to do a one arm pec deck...You would need to strap yourself into the seat...I think the nautilus one in inclined back so youre kind of lying back...Some of that nautilus stuff was built solid and is still around all these years later. Nautilus had some weird shit. I remember the shoulder shrug machine they had. Arthur Jones invented that stuff in the 70s. He was about 80 years old and had a wife who was a fitness model and about 30 years old. He had a dream life.
