I am kicking crutches. In the past 1.5 yrs I have hung up my elbow sleeves and lifting belt. Now is the time to hang up my 36" inzer's. I have been spending less time in the gym without them and i feel pretty good so far. Have to wait and see how it goes long term but i am pretty excited to do this.

      Anyone else use wrist wraps?

anything over 400 most of the time for me. or when i am super stupid lean and really close to a show. other than that they stay in the bag. i would have to look but i believe over the last couple of weeks i squatted and dead lifted over 400 without anything. if it doesnt feel right, i will throw it on or if it is tender and achy going in. i try to keep it limited as much as possible though

I ditched the knee wraps and belt a long time ago too. I still use the grip wraps when deadlifting when I get into the heavier sets. Otherwise I can't hold onto the bar for more than 2 or 3 reps.

I started to think that I don't want to lift heavier than the weakest part of me can handle; and that the core and support muscles will be better for it if I don't use a belt, wraps, etc.

I'll put the belt on for super heavy (for me) deadlifts or squats - super heavy for me means above 365 - but that's it. I realized that the belt doesn't really do all that much for lower back support, which is what I thought it was for all along. But it does provide support for the intra!abdominal pressure required when doing heavy deadlifts or squats. So that's why I use it for those heavy movements.

I stopped using them and stopped getting hurt. BUT, I also stopped going heavy (over 75% max) Yeah I am not as strong on the top end but the joints feel WAY better.

When I stopped wrapping the wrists I started doing wrist curls with DBs (i have skinny wrists) I try to hit them from all angles. I do not know if it helped but I cannot see how it would not.

I wear a pair of worn out mcdavid neoprene knee sleeves. At this point its just warmth but they help me alot. ima keep using them on leg day for now. I still going to use wrist straps on back day too. I have had issues with wrists like many lifters so i usually go above and beyond to protect them but I am sick of wrist wraps and I believe i can keep going all out with presses and curls and all that without wearing them. This is my goal for now as far as training and the equipment i use.

hey man. i know your not a looking to compete or anything crazy like that but a good friend of mine is a top coach. i was asking him about using knees sleeves and even elbow sleeves for when tendonitus or other issues are acting up. he tells me, hell yeah they are a great tool to have and use but, only pull them up for when you start getting close to your working set weights. he says that they will weaken the tear drop and other muscles surrounding your knee when you keep them on the entire time. same goes for the elbow sleeve. i found it interesting myself and a good thought.

as far as wrist straps go i say strap up unless you are a power lifter. your grip is going to give out long before your back or hammies ever will

I've never used the deth. I never use any kind of support lifting, whether it's heavy or light. I probably should when I do heavy, but so far I have not.
