TweetDeadlifts is an excercise that can really hurt you if you don't do them properly. I learned to do them properly really quick after my back hurt a bit
TweetI was in the gym training and over by the squat rack was a guy doing dead lifts. This guy was tall and over weight. He loaded 315# on the bar and did the dead lifts. His form was perfect a thing of beauty. Back straight with a little forward angle. Butt well below his knees and stood up with no effort.
Many times I see people using the back to lift. When I saw this I thought this guy is a serious lifter.

TweetI love deadlifts! I usually do them on my heavy back days, but they stimulate just about everything. Form is definitely crucial when doing these.
TweetDeadlifts rule!!!!! Its the ultimate test! I breathe, eat, sleep, and dream about deads
TweetCan you post a video of your deadlift. I do like watching them properly done. I can't do them but I like watching them
TweetMan this is so true. When I started coaching Crossfit classes 5 years ago, nobody knew how to do them properly. I'm talking rounded shoulders when lifting, everything you could imagine. I was like "who taught these people how to do this?" I'm surprised nobody had injured themselves.

Tweetsquats and deads are by far the best tests of strength for sure. that and how much mental and physical torture you can put your body through doing them

TweetI have been totally deads with clean and presses. I love this heavy training cycle.
TweetI find it extremely difficult to maintain proper form as the weight gets heavier without really watching myself in the mirror. If I don't really watch it, my butt goes up without the bar, and then I'm lifting with my back. Really have to concentrate to keep the hams and glutes doing the work at the bottom of the movement!
