For competition purposes I say yes. Im not a "form *****", but deads are the one that I do try to keep somewhat strict and at low reps. I feel as fatigue sets in from higher reps your groove gets a little funky and opens you up for possible injury. Although I've seen some hitching MoFos and never get hurt once....
as soon as i hitch or start to hitch i hang it up. love dead lifts but i know what a back injury feels like and does haha.
