What time of day do you workout?

So I just landed a new job, so far in loving it. My biggest complaint so far is the hours. They are actually sweet, 0800-4:30 mon-fri.. not bad. But I really wish it was 9-5.
I want to workout in the morning before work with weights and cardio. But getting to the gym, lifting, cardio, shower getting ready and eating and making it to work on time isn't going to really work. But I don't get home till 5, so that means if I go right after work I'm going when 70% of the populations foes. So that means I'm probably going to be working out from about 8 or 9 till whenever I'm done or the place closes lol.
That brings me to another point, can I eat carbs after a workout that late, Right before bed?
I never meant to be better than anyone, I was just born that way. Its hard being a god amongst peasants!
