TweetI do some direct but most is indirect like from pullups and deads without straps...I like doing hammer curls to hit that upper part. Seems to make my forearms bigger
TweetAnyone do any direct forearm work? I've been thinking about those "fat grips" Jay Cutler always talks about. Seems like it could really help with grip strength. All of my forearm work is just indirect from training and I feel likey grip strength is ok, but always wished my forearms were a bit bigger. Just curious if anyone does any direct forearm work.

TweetLove hammer curls. Huge bicep and forearm pump! Pretty much all of my forearm work is indirect too, but may check out those fat grips or something similar and see how they work. Seems like they would be pretty good for grip strength could help with my rows and deadlifts.
TweetI don't do any direct, but I want to. I use to when I was younger and I do feel like it helped make them look much fuller. My grip strength is fine from deadlifting, but like bis' and tri's forearms are one of those bodyparts people notice because they're always showing. Having big forearms can go a long way in making you look much more muscular.
For biceps I basically just stick to alternating dumbbell curls, hammer curls, seated incline curls, and a preacher curl.
for forearms I use to do Reverse Curls (which I think make a big difference), behind that back wrist curls with barbell, wrist curls with barbell with forearms prop'd up on preacher pad, and then reverse wrist curls on preacher pad.

TweetI totally agree, forearms are always showing and make a big impression. Over the years I keep forgetting about reverse curls. I'm going to start adding those back in my routine.
TweetI'm the same mostly indirect do love hammer curls. I've always been told I have farm boy forearms I hope that's good. I did grow up on a dairy lol

TweetIf you actually milk the cows by hand it's noticeable also scooping ice cream at my first job made a direct difference. Rake and I do forearm work 4 of 6 days a week and my right one is still much larger, go figure. Rake's are very respectable. We use a preacher pad and some elbows on knees. Reverse curls on Bi days.
