now the aha and lots of cardiologist are saying that after extensive research lipids have pretty much no impact on heart disease and cardiovascular events. not completely ignoring lipids but they now say that it isnt as important as once thought and top that off with the honest cardio docs saying that statins and their use is completely financial in nature. when looking at statistics over something like 20 or 30 years (off top of my head) the relation between those with high lipid values and not taking statins and those that did. both groups had the same amount of heart disease and cardiac events. doc serano and a bunch of others are sounding the alarm on not using statins at all period. that and lipids are not a good indicator of heart risk. they now use apob and insulin tests and a couple others i cant remember for more accurate predictors for risks.

i personally do my own labs every 6-8 weeks and after seeing that i added in both. cool thing is even with private labs those tests are only like 40 bucks a piece. i still check my lipids and keep them in check but i dont use statins. i use supps to control mine. also need to try to beef up the hdl which i struggle with myself never getting out of the 40s which sucks

it's a huge crock of shit man. doc i used to see that was a complete moron tried to put me on statins because my lipids got out of check. i told her give me 60 days and i will have them perfect. boom better than her's with no statins.

TweetThese drug companies keep track of how many and what prescriptions these doctors write and pay the doctors handsomely, sometimes its secret, under the table payments or fancy dinners and trips for their family to Europe. Ski trips to Aspen, luxury box seats at NFL football games, etc etc.... All for prescribing more drugs to more unsuspecting people. Im not sure how much big pharma makes on statins, but its somewhere around 50 billion + a year if irc. Its a huge f****ing scam
