I was just reading peter kings monday column at si.com and he totally trashed Tebows performance last night...Of course, anyone who spouted off what a crappy prospect he was is not going to like seeing him succeed. TweetI never thought he'd be god enough to start at QB in the NFL - and I didn't see the game the other day - but I'll gladly eat my words if he succeeds. If he is good enough to play, there should be thousands of mea culpa editorials across the country. Give him credit for working hard and being persistent. Just like at Florida, his greatest asset may not be his physical skills, but his attitude and leadership and understanding of the game may carry him to a starting spot one day. I wish him luck, even though I hate Florida and Meyer as much as anyone.

Since when are OSU and USC not power football programs? That came out of the blue . . . both schools are traditional powers with win totals that put nearly every other school to shame - even if you just look at the last 10-20 years they are among the winningest programs in all of football. Understand that a school need not win the BCS NC every year to be considered a powerhouse program . . . in this day, we see media hype surrounding all of the top programs - they are built up and torn down for the sake of radio and tv ratings. The hype machine is out of control, and when it is wrong about how good a team is in a given year, there is an understandable backlash - but none of it means that failed expectations equate to a mediocre program. Look at the numbers, the records, the bowl wins, the conference wins, the Heismans, etc. That will tell you who is mediocre, and who was simply not as good as ESPN said they should be that year. USC may suffer for the next few years (deservedly so), but normally I'd put USC and OSU in the top 5 every year and be right 90%+ of the time.

TweetTebow is already injured and missing practice and will probably miss saturdays home game against detroit. His running style may bring a quick end to his career if he keeps putting his head down and running over people. This isn't like college. Too many collisions and he will be looking for another line of work.
