TweetSteve Atwater from the broncos 80's and 90's was probably the hardest hitting safety ever to play the game.
TweetRonnie Lott as well.........

TweetI would agree with that.
Tweeti was watching the NFL channel this weekend and they showed atwaters hit on the Nigerian Nightmare (can't remember his real name) and he just crushed the nightmare. It was an un real hit that from a under 200lbs saftey vs a almost 285lb running back.
But hard to argue that lott wasn't the toughest player ever. Dude cut off the tip of his finger so he could play in a game. Thats just unreal.
Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog...
TweetI think that hit was on Christian Okoya

Tweetyeah it was okoya; I believe that was the hit that ended okoya's career. He had another hit that broke a QB's leg ( icant remember which QB. But the hit i remember most was at one of the superbowls that he won at denver; when him and the free safety both went for a tackle on the same guy and both missed and hit each other head on head. Both were knocked out temporarily.
TweetHe by far wasnt my favorite but.....remember Chuck Cecil? Dude was a maniac. Spearing people like nobodys business.
