I thought the Eagles were dead in the rights after they dropped to 5-6. And what's happened with Jeff Garcia? I thought he was totally washed up, definitely proved me wrong...

i was thinking the same thing but lucky for us eagles fans, garcia seems to fit right in with the west coast offense.
coach ried did allow marty to call the plays and it has made a huge difference. who would have thought that the eagles would run the ball 2x as much as they passed it yesterday.
now the big debate will be, who should be the starter next season, especially if garcia takes the eagles deep into the playoffs or even wins the superbowl.
i have never been a mcnabb fan and would rather see garcia here as the starter next year as i think his style of game fits into the west coast offense better than mcnabbs does.

Nothing changed except for Garica taking over and he has been kicking ass every since and I'm glad because I always thought he was a good QB, he just needed the right offense to prove it. So guys are cut out for some things better than others.

With all of that said, it PAINS me to no end to say this but I hope the Eagles beat my Falcons next week. I really do. I want Mora, the defensive coordinator and Vick gone! How the phuk do you start a season with 6 dam pro bowl players just ond defense and end up worse than last year? How the hell do you do that. Also, the defensive coordinator took 6 pro bowl players and did such a ****ty job with them and only 1 of those 6 are making the pro bowl this year. How the hell does that happen? Those players should have been able to keep most teams to 14 points or less, but they didn't come even close to that. They were not consistant at all. Then, their offense has enough weapons to score atleast 21 points a game, but they didn't manage that either. And the games they did actually put it together and get the score up in the 20's ot 30's, they still lost because their defense played like totaly crap. I hope Arthur Blank cleans house. I hope he atleast gets a new defensive coordinator and then trades Vick's ass for two of the best offensive linemen in the game and a first round pick (if they can even get that-lol). Hell, I would just take two of the best offensive tackles for him. Then let Schaub ist in that pocket with good protection and light people up.

TweetMike Vick is all hype and is so overrated. He's been in the league for how many years now and still cannot pass consistently? I agree that Mora is a poor coach (like father like son), but common now.

People compare Vick to other QBs such as Cunningham and Steve Young. As a scrambler he may have them beat, but as an overall QB, he's nowhere close to either of those guys. Cunningham had a cannon on his shoulder (an accurate one unlike Vick) and Young was one of the most accurate passers to ever play.

I doubt Schaub will leave. Arthur Blank won't let him go if he's fed up with Vick, which as a business man, he should be. Vick is not a winner and he's not a leader. Period. If you put on a team with the best coach in history, he would never make the QB spot. He would be a receiver or a back, but never a QB. He's got a cannon, but he's got no accuracy which makes him useless. ATL would be perfectly fine without Vick. If they had a top 5 QB they would still run all over people because teams would have to respect the pass game. Thus, enabling Dunn or Norwood to run all over people. If they play the run, a guy like Schaub would light them up. But, if they keep Mora, I bet they will probably trade Scaub off for another receiver. The problem is Vick, plain and simple. There are probably 20 QB's in this league that could have started the season with this team and ended up with 3,000 passing yards. Vick is sloppy with the ball when he runs which makes him a double liability. He throws to many INT's and he fumbles too much. Besides his 1,000 rushing, what's he good for? If that's all they want, then they can get that from Dunn and Norwood. I guess it all boils down to how long Blank is going to accept this. If he's fed up, then people will be gone.

Yeah, there is no comparison to Vick and a quality passign QB. Sure, he had 4 games this season where he threw 3-4 TD's and that was great. However, this is a 16 game season and unless he can do that atleast 10 games a year, he's useless as a QB. Back when he first got in the league he was good for 14 points a game. He would run a TD and pass a TD. But now, defenses know how to play him. He doesn't score running like he did his first couple years. Thus, he is useless as a QB. His only hope is to switch to WR or I imagine his day will be up pretty soon.

Of course, maybe, just maybe, if the had a line that could give him top notch protection then that could change things. He is undoubtably the most elusive QB to ever play the game. So why is it he is the most sacked QB? The line for ATL deffinately sucks at pass protection. They are great at run blocking but that's only when a defense had 6-7 guys in the box. You put 8 guys in the box and the run is usually dead for ATL, as teams have proven.

But just imagine Vick as a WR. What kind of pressure would that put on defenses? With Vick, Crumpler, Lelie and Finneran next year, just how would you defend that with an arm like Schaubs in the pocket? How? You would have to be in nickle defense most of the game and then Dunn and Norwood woudl just eat of the field in rushing yard. If you tried to play the run, Schaub would have someone open every play or he would have one on one and I don't any team with two coners that could stay step for step with both Vick and Lelie. Then you have Crumpler and Finneran crossing underneath or taking the short post routes and you have guys open all the time.
