TweetLelie has been holding out at Denver and the Falcons just acquired him in a three way trade. This gives Vick that deep threat that he has never had since he got in the NFL. This guy lead the league in yards per catch last season and is a sure deep threat. We all know Vick can throw the ball far, he's just not very accurate. Well, this will allow Vick to drop back and just sling it. This is just the guy they need to go and get it.
Oh man, I can't phuking wait for this season to begin now. I don't care who you are, as a defense, you have to respect the deep threat of a guy like Lelie with an arm like Vick's. And, that will open up ATL's run game and their already established TE passes. Just watch and see boys, this is going to be the move that makes the season for ATL. They've already beefed up the D, now they have something to complement the only good thing vick can do with his arm, throw it down field. Too many times Vick would over throw his WR's in the past, this guy will make a huge difference.
And God forbid Vick get's injured! Good night, Schaub will light it up all damn day long with this addition to the team. This is going to make for a very interesting season now. Now, we don't have to put all our faith in Vick's accuracy in the short pass.
TweetI'll tell you what t-man, If Vick can't get his recognition as a passer with all this talent ( wr's 1,2 & 3 are #1 picks- Top 5 TE and a pro bowl RB) then he will NEVER live it down.
If i were a Falcons fan i would be VERY excited right now. Losing Duckett is a tad bit harsh but Staley should be around if you need the bigger back.
good luck with your season!
TweetI'm not so worried about losing Duckett, they still have a pretty big FB and that kid they got out of Miss State ran the fastest 40 time of all the RB's in the combine this year. I think it was a 4.33. He's fast as hell and with the ability to spread defenses out now, the run will be open even in short yardage situations.Originally Posted by NATE
Here's the thing, most teams will play ATL with 8 or 9 guys in the box almost every down and take their chances with the pass. Even with those odds they still were the highest rushing offense in the NFL the last two years. However, with the possiblity of a guy like Lelie out running most corners and safetys in this league they won't be able to play even 8 guys in the box.
Then, the addition of Grady Jackson will really beef up ATL's run defense. In stead of the 6'2" 305 lb guy they have now at NT, Jackson is 6'2" and 335 and a known run stopper.
Yeah, I'm very excited.
