Tweetevidently, good lord. I heard that when bass get that large, they get slow and sluggish and lazy and you need to work the lure with a slow, lazy approach.
Tweetactually that guy is so little and scrawny, that it makes the fish look a lot bigger than it really is, lol.
TweetThey stock the desert lakes around Phx. in the fall with trout. Lots are out there with 10 and 12 inch trout swimbaits (rubber fish) I threw one (10") for a few hours and thought my arms were gonna fall off. lol When the thing splashed down it was like you were throwing someones leg into the water.Originally posted by LadiesMan

DAMN! 12'' and you have more than ONE?! You should be called the P***YKILLER, not basskiller:p
that's funny.
TweetNice bro, is that a rago trout? I throw the castaics and ospreys here in Texas. I have yet to break 10# but have a 9.3 and a couple of 8s.I want to fish socal pretty bad there are some massive fish there. bob crupi and mike long have both caught fish over 20 pounds and crupi caught 2 over.

TweetThat is actually an AC Plug - developed in the mid to late eighties by Alan Cole form Southern California. He used them for Stripers in lake Castaic and started killing the largemouths with them. They are incredible in a lake that has small stocked trout in it.
Grimek - try trolling with them - they get down deeper and are much more effective - try to bounce it around near the tops of submerged trees if there are any in the lakes you fish - that is the hot ticket in the lakes where they are successful.
My biggest largemouth to date is 11-9 - caught when I was still living in Southern California - had given up on the bass cause they just weren't feeding and switched over to a small jig with a 1" trailer on it and started going for Crappie - man was I in shock when that thing came out of the water.
TweetI don't think thats an ac bro they are long round jointed baits with a wedge tail unless they are making a new kind of updated plug. It looks like a rago but I havent seen one with 2 trebles. Lots of those types of custom plugs in cali.
TweetOK now I'm confused......I really thought "bass" in basskiller was like "bass" from PE's Night of the Living BASSheads, or I'm cranking some BASS from the subs in my trunk.............now I'm questioning my own existence....shit
TweetDamn - you guys have better eyes than me
Has anyone used any of the Castaic baits?
Tweetdamn, thats impressive.
